What Shoes should I wear for CrossFit!?

We get this question a lot. The answer is relatively simple. Are they comfortable? Do they have a fairly minimalist sole? (meaning is the sole really cushy or not!) We like the lighter weight shoes for CrossFit because we feel like they bring our feet closer to the way nature intended without having to be barefoot. That is about as basic as you can get, BUT we all know humans like to continue evolving and making cool new products that suck us in :-) So, you have the choice of reebok, inov8, nike, converse, new balance etc etc and within those brands, they have created CrossFit specific shoes which are designed to allow you to run, lift, jump, climb to the best of your ability. Which is pretty cool for the technology geeks amongst us. The photo below is a little sample of a few shoes that were in the gym at the time of the photo. Quite a variety. Different people are going to find different shoes comfortable and functional for them. Some people have higher arches or wider feet. This is going to require a completely different shoe to the narrow, lower arched individual. If you want to dive into more detail about the ideal shoe for you, have a chat with your coach. We all have our favourites!

 

HGST's Pinnacle Event

HGST's 2013 Pinnacle Event held in Nevis Caribbean. Many of the companies top salesman/ support staff traveled in for a few days of fun. So far the event has been amazing. Today 64 participants worked on the land and water in multiple team events. One of them was CrossFit. A team workout with beach runs, sit ups, push ups, and sandbag thrusters. - Jason K
