ATTENTION NORCAL FAMILY: It’s time to rally and support a local high school!
NorCal Winter Fundraiser
This holiday season NorCal CrossFit will be hosting a fundraising competition for Saturday, January 4th. We will be raising money to set up a functioning CrossFit facility at Summit San Jose Charter School. Below is an email we received from a current student requesting our help in outfitting their gym.
“I’m really excited to begin the startup of a CrossFit club at my school. We have decided to start as a club and then transition into a sports program once it is fully functional.
Summit San Jose is divided between two campuses, Tahoma and Rainier, neither of which have a physical education program. All students are required to log at least 100 hours of outside physical fitness on their own. With the help of NorCal CrossFit, I would love to start an after school workout class that will be structured similarly to CrossFit classes. Students who attend these workouts will be able to count these hours towards the required physical fitness hours. Not only will this program promote good health and fitness, but it will also introduce CrossFit into the high school community. The list of resources that we will require is listed below.
Many students and teachers are excited about getting this program started at Summit.”
It's incredible to see a teenager dedicated to such a healthy, proactive cause. What do you think team? Can our community match his enthusiasm and support him in setting up a CrossFit program at his school? Heck yeah we can!
The competition's format will be as follows:
This will be a great way to cap the holiday season and kick off the New Year. Once again, donations are tax deductible.
