Sunday Sept 7th at 1:05pm A's baseball game "CrossFit Day" at the stadium.
Tickets $22
WOD before the game that we get to watch including Neal Maddox, Wes Piatt, Gabe Subry, Margaux Alvarez, Chyna Cho, Ben Alderman, and our own Miranda Oldroyd, and Camille Leblanc. The wod will start at 10am.
If our gym has one of top 20 most people attending, we get to pick a person to compete in the wod with them.
Redwood City and Mtn View already have over 40 people signed up amongst the two gyms.
Money must be collected by noon THIS FRIDAY.

10+ Reasons I Love My Ugly Body

Andrea from I’mperfect Life shares her story about learning to love a body she hated

I came across this article earlier this week, and I found it very inspiring. Take a moment to read it. Though it’s from a woman’s perspective and it tells her story of finding acceptance of her body through CrossFit, anyone could gain a lot from her story.

My favorite thing about CrossFit as a lifestyle is the fact that the focus of these goals begins to change. While many walk into the gym with a goal to look a certain way, it only takes a few months for mindsets to transform. The goals now become less about aesthetics and more about achievements: getting a handstand, a pull up, or that first muscle up; learning to climb the rope or feeling comfortable with the uncomfortable; setting a new back squat or clean and jerk PR; or maybe just shocking yourself by doing something you never in a million years thought you were capable of.

Yes bodies transform daily in CrossFit gyms, but that is just bonus points to the real transformation; the transformation that really counts is the mental, emotional perspective shift, the feeling of empowerment that changes people from the inside out. That is real strength, and this woman was brave enough to share her story!

Thanks to every member for coming into the gym on a daily basis and pushing yourselves to do things that you never thought you could, adding weights to the barbell that you never thought you would, and adding value to community filled with like-minded people. You guys make coaching the greatest job on earth!
