A'S Game - Come join the fun!

Sunday Sept 7th at 1:05pm A's baseball game "CrossFit Day" at the stadium.
Tickets $22
WOD before the game that we get to watch including Neal Maddox, Wes Piatt, Gabe Subry, Margaux Alvarez, Chyna Cho, Ben Alderman, and our own Miranda Oldroyd, and Camille Leblanc. The wod will start at 10am.
If our gym has one of top 20 most people attending, we get to pick a person to compete in the wod with them.
Redwood City and Mtn View already have over 40 people signed up amongst the two gyms.
Money must be collected by noon THIS FRIDAY.

Today, we DEADLIFT!

You probably hear your coach yelling all kinds of cues at you during this lift. “chest up!” “tight back!” “midline!” “heels!”… any of these sound familiar? The reason why your coaches are constantly cueing you through the deadlift is because this lift has the potential for you to lift A LOT of weight, and we want to make sure you do it right so that you can build strength, gain adaptation, and stay injury free. In today’s workout, you’ll be deadlifting for higher (unbroken) reps under fatigue, so understanding the mechanics of this lift will be very important!

In this video, Coach Erik Preston, member of the CrossFit Level 1 Staff and good friend to many of your coaches here at NorCal, takes a group through the deadlift. He sheds some light on the though process behind coaching the deadlift, which might help you to better understand cues, corrections, and the important things to think about for this lift.
