Strength Club Athlete Recognition
Sayor Basu!
Sayor is notorious for going so hard that the veins in his neck pop out and his eyeballs bulge. Sayor never cuts himself slack. He shows up to Strength Club twice a week and is ready to unleash a can of whoop a**, but he always sports a laugh and a smile. He keeps to himself silently as he pushes himself to break past current PRs, while continuing to improve the quality of his movement. Sayor is not only a member of one of NorCal Crossfit's speciality clubs, but he attends the Endurance Club as well and frequents regular classes. He is able to have fun in Crossfit, lifting, and endurance, while bringing a silent strength to the people around him. Oh yeah, and he gained 100lbs on his squat in 3 months. What?!

When did you join Strength Club?
Almost a year ago, May 2013

What's your favorite movement you've learned in Strength Club?
That would be the squats, since I gained the most on them and it has helped with with a lot of other movements. Seemingly simple but I learned a lot on the front and back squats and along with the accessory movements we do. The techniques have helped me get faster/better at running, squat cleans, overhead movements, thrusters, etc.

What is the most challenging movement, technique, or instance you have overcome in Strength Club?
Overhead squats and snatches. I am still not good at them but have got much better as compared to a few months back

Who has the best lifting face in Strength Club?
Trick question ;-) I try to keep my eyes closed when going for max effort now.

What's your favorite thing to eat AND drink after a heavy lifting session?
It used to be In-And-Out's double double, protein style :) but has changed to protein shake and home cooked meal of fish or chicken with veggies and sometimes pasta or rice lately.

What is the biggest thing you've gained from the club? Feel free to name lift numbers AND/OR body parts.
Backsquats, deadlift and bench in that order. My squat increased by almost 100lbs after our squat program to 280. I can deadlift 375 and bench went up by 70lbs to 205 now.
