Random Fact of the Day:

Budweiser beer conditions the hair

Yup, I looked it up. Multiple sources agree. This is a fact according to Google. If you try it, let us all know.

I want to start a Craigslist type page for our blog, I just have no idea where to start. I don't want it to become goofy, quality control needs to be high. If you guys have an idea please throw it our way. I just see that sometimes people post that they have shoes for sale or perhaps they own a company and offer a service. CrossFitters would much rather do business with CrossFitters. I think it would be awesome for our NorCal community. Now its just the question of...how?

Why not add a forum/ discussion board to the blog? Coaches could be moderators in case threads start to get inappropriate or out of hand. Just a thought..

It would be cool if we could ping other members somehow too. I, for example, would love to find out what Jericho and Stuart have been getting themselves into or not lately. If you guys read this, I hope all is well :)

Why not just use the facebook page? I follow a number of crossfit gyms all over the country and they all have facebook pages and use it this way.

Facebook is neat. I was thinking that I don't check the Facebook regularly and I do check the NorCal Crossfit websit everyday. Along the same line not all NorCal Crossfit members use the Facebook but they all probably use this website.

Facebook pages are a great tool for marketing communications and for people to interact directly with brands, but groups are more where it's at in terms of communities of people interacting with each other. The Fuel Challenge group is a good example, and I have groups for league sports teams I play on that really reinforce and even help build the community online and offline.

The big plus of a Facebook group is that most people are already signed up. The downside, as Chris says, is that not all people who check this website may log into FB everyday.

Not sure if this has been done before, but I'd propose a public "SSO" type forum. Lots of blogs have comment sections which let the user log in through Facebook or G+ so why not have a community forum in a similar fashion? Just off the top of my head.
